- Space Planning Product Library (PSP): A library or database containing information about products used in space planning.

- Squish Factor: Percentage of product that can be “squeezed” to change item dimensions.
- Squozen: Frozen item occupying less space than its dimensions.
- Stock Keeping Unit (SKU): Distinct code to identify and track individual products within a retailer’s inventory, crucial for accurate inventory management.
- Store Assignment: The process of associating a planogram with one or more stores.
- Structured Query Language (SQL): A programming language used for managing and manipulating relational databases.
- Sub-category: A smaller subset within a category. For example, ice cream within the frozen food category.
- Substitution: Sales retained when an item is deleted because consumers buy a substitute product from the same assortment.
- Sustainable & Ethical Sourcing: Incorporating environmentally friendly and socially responsible practices in product sourcing and Supply Chain Management.
- S-Wrap: Placing products in a snake on the shelves.
- Target Planogram: In Planogram Generator, framework planograms that get populated during the generation process based on the rules in the Action List.
- Template Planogram: The base planogram used by Planogram Generator contains products and merchandising strategy for a category.
- Temporary Price Reduction (TPR): Short-term decrease in the selling price of a product, often used for promotions or seasonal events.
- Text Box: An area on a planogram where text is entered, used to communicate specific information about the planogram to the stores.
- Tie-in Product: A product that does not belong to a category but may have a secondary placement within it.
- Total Points of Distribution (TPD): Total number of locations where a product is available for purchase, including stores and online platforms. Helps category managers understand product reach, identify distribution gaps, and plan expansion strategies.
- Trading Area/Retailer Marketing Area (TA/RMA): Stores a retailer operates in a geographic region, influencing strategic decisions such as store location, target audience, and marketing efforts.
- Traffic Flow: The way a customer approaches the aisle/category.

- Trait: An identifier for Walmart.
- Transferable Demand: Sales consumed by additions to an assortment or retained by product substitutes when a product is deleted.
- Transition: The term Target Corporation uses to describe a major planogram reset.
- Tray: The use of a tray (usually cardboard or plastic) to display a product. This reduces the amount of handling required but impacts on the shelf space as trays usually occupy more than one facing.
