Cantactix Mission Control
|
Q: Can MissionControl replace JDA Space Planning as the application to make planograms?
A: No, MissionControl does not build planograms - it automates the processes used to manage and update planograms, making any alterations significantly faster. MissionControl actually REQUIRES you to have a licensed copy of JDA Space Planning installed on the same computer. MissionControl makes JDA Space Planning better.
Q: Can I test the software before buying it?
A: Yes. We offer a trial version of MissionControl that you can request on this page. The trial version has limits on the number of planograms and images you can process, and it does not include any retailer-specific features. If you are interested in the retailer-specific options, please contact us at info@cantactix.com.
Q: Does this mean I do not need JDA's Category Management Database (JDA Category Knowledge Base)?
A: No. MissionControl is not a replacement for JDA Category Knowledge Base (CKB, sometimes called IKB). CKB is a powerful repository for all your assortment, cluster, planogram, floorplan, product and performance data. Any serious retailer (and most medium and large manufacturers) should be leveraging CKB as their enterprise repository for their Category Management data.
CKB users experience improved integration with their existing systems, enhanced functionality and better connectivity between the different applications within the JDA Category Management Suite. MissionControl is designed to primarily augment the JDA Space Planning application.
Q: This software sounds a lot like JDA Space Automation Professional (SAPro) - is it the same thing?
A: No. Although it is possible to re-create some of the MissionControl features in JDA Space Automation Professional (SAPro), the tools are different and serve different purposes.
MissionControl contains a specific set of common features that our clients need and its utilisation does not require deep technical expertise.
Space Automation Professional is a powerful programming tool for the JDA Category Management Suite and requires both an advanced .NET skill-set AND a strong understanding of Space Management practices. We typically do not see many clients who have team-members with both of these skill sets.
Q: Will my IT group let me install MissionControl?
A: That depends. If your IT department allows you to install software on your PC you will be able to install MissionControl by yourself. If not, we will provide the software in the common file format IT departments need to provision MissionControl to your desktop.
For your reference, the MissionControl installation process contains a DigiCert certificate that verifies Cantactix as a legitimate software provider. Installations are checked against a central DigiCert certificate repository to confirm this is valid software, and safe to install. This is the same process used by most other packaged software applications.
Q: My retailer adjusts their requirements with each reset - will MissionControl keep up?
A: Yes. Cantactix works closely with many retailers and we attempt to keep up with their changing requirements. We also welcome your suggestions for enhancements.
Q: How do updates get delivered to me?
A: MissionControl validates your version every time it launches and you have the ability to accept or delay the software updates any time new features become available.
Q: How often is the software updated?
A: We update the software regularly and you will likely see updates at least once a month. We are always developing new features to stay current with our customers' needs. If there is an action that you are doing to every one of your planograms, we want to hear about it. It might become our next feature!
