Choosing between FOCUS 2018 or the 2018 Category Management Association Conference?
What to do? Two conferences running at the same time? What conference should you and your team attend?
Bottom line: JDA power users should go to FOCUS; people with a Category Management mandate beyond just JDA software should go to the CMA show.
We suggest you do what we are doing - split your team up and send someone to each of the shows. Regardless of which show you choose, we will see you in May. Here's a breakdown of what each show is about:
JDA FOCUS | May 6th - 9th, 2018
JDA FOCUS is a conference is well-suited for JDA software users who are active with their Category Management suite of tools, formerly 'Intactix'. You may be the manager/director of the department, or you primarily use JDA tools in your daily work. You may also use multiple suites from JDA, making this a great conference for you.
The break-out sessions are focused on the software, how to implement it, and how others gain value from the tools. There are often hands-on or training sessions that let your newer users spend time with a product expert and see the software in action. JDA gets many of its customers to present at FOCUS, and those are always popular sessions.
We just attended JDA's sales kickoff meeting and are impressed where they are heading. Many of those same messages will likely be delivered at FOCUS. They continue to invest heavily in new products and are committed to ensuring customer success.
The attendee count at FOCUS is much larger than the CMA show, because the conference covers all the JDA tools, not just the Category Management Suite. The keynote and guest speakers deliver excellent, thought-provoking presentations and a huge party is planned at Universal Studios.
The basic agenda is available now, and you will be able to sort to just Category Management sessions closer to May. You can see the agenda here: JDA FOCUS Agenda

Category Management Association | May 7th - 9th, 2018
Influencing The Connected Shopper
The CMA conference is about Category Management, Shopper Insights and E-Commerce. It's been around for more than a decade, and we're delighted to have been part of its growth.
Attendees typically use multiple software applications, meaning more than just JDA tools.
Announced speakers include Coca-Cola, Walmart, Meijer, Nielson, and Schnucks. The conference also offers over 50 breakout sessions that focus on best practices with sharing from retailers, manufacturers and solutions providers - including one by Cantactix. The final session of the conference is a panel of five retailers. Last year the content was engaging, and the audience was involved, inspiring the panelists to extend the interactive discussion by 45 minutes.
An attendee favorite of this conference is the "Solution Provider Demo Rotations". You can see eight different 12-minute demos over the two days. You sit through quick demonstrations from the vendors with no pressure to interact as you run off to the next demo. We think of it as 'Vendor Speed Dating".
As a smaller conference around 700 (ish) attendees, the breaks and demos all take place in the central Solutions Hall, providing excellent networking opportunities. Fianlly, no trip to Nashville is complete without a party, featuring country artists Josh Gracin, 2 Steel Girls and Larry Matlin.
